Gone Walkabout

Smogranch_final_Australia

So this blog has come to an end. It has. Abruptly. You ever get the feeling you are missing the point? Maybe the foundation you have been existing on all these years is really a false flat, a planet just large enough to live on but ultimately unsustainable. A shaft of light brings ample illumination to see what is real, what isn’t and more importantly..what is possible.

There could be anything out there.

For those of you who have played along for all this time….thank you. I’m not deleting this site, just going on a visual walkabout.

Keep on, keep’n on brother….we’ll still be here when you’re ready. May your travels be filled with moments, TriX, Portra, good food, beer and that digital thing with the busted front end.

I’ve only relatively recently discovered your blog but loved your little corner of the internet and refreshingly frank viewpoint on photography. Best wishes for wherever your next journey takes you.

Very sincere thanks for being a spark in the gloom. When you discover what is right in front of your nose it is a great feeling isn’t it. Enjoy, you deserve.

  21. Rory says:

Farewell! It’s always sad when someone whose thoughts and opinions you value leaves your life. All the best, and thanks for providing one of the most honest and interesting photographic blogs I’ve read. Hope to see you back here sometime.

  22. Chris fuller says:

I tried to start a blog. I couldn’t do it. I had too many other things to do. Given your drive to experience so much, I do not know how you maintained it for so long. Nonetheless, I am sad to see it end. This has been one of the few genuinely informative photography blogs. Via con Dios.

  23. cam says:

haha what an end! completely unexpected, but for somebody as driven as you are you will end up in the deep end of something, of that i have no doubt. Thanks for all the words, nice to have something other than the constant camera gear whoring on the net and to read some (mostly ;) ) unpretencious musings on the philosophy of picture making.

  24. Fredrik says:

Too bad, will miss the blog ! Even if I miss the old blogg style more.

  25. Reiner says:

    Godspeed to you, Sir!
