  1. It is somewhere outside Chivay, is it not. Oh and also, all us students are slaving away at the hotel editing and processing while our 3 teachers went to the hot tub!

    PS. Cool image.

Good fun, Dan! Glad you kept your camera close at hand.

Through a glass. Darkly. The imperfection of the mirror is interesting. Modern lenses have computer aided design in their genes, with algorithms for parents. In 1956 there were lens formulas but the end result was judged subjectively by humans. Now it is all about clarity and clinical perfection. Digital flatness. Are we drawn to the 1950’s ‘look’ just by nostalgia or were those lenses designed around our hard-wiring ?

      Lionel,

Funny you should say that. I was just on an image sharing site, a popular one, and every single picture was photoshopped to absolute perfection. But, they were technically perfect, much more so than nature would EVER be able to produce, so consequently the vast majority look so phony they just aren’t interesting in the slightest.

My feeling is that a lot of great pictures are made, when one was close to leaving the camera at home or in the locker or whatever. Great picture! I really couldn´t say if this was a mirror shot or there has been a wall with a window in between you and you subjects. Love it!

Yeah the mirror was cool Daniel, I like it. I think the one of the Leicas would make a cool screen saver.
