I remember my moment. About to get married. Suddenly, I can’t remember anything. It just went right by. And then I was married. I look back on the images and have to relive what happened by running my hands over the paper and trying to put two and two together.
This image is a friend of mine, who I think is having his moment. Getting ready. Blinding light. A hour before the ceremony. A new life outside that window. He just has to get ready for it.
Did you have a wedding “moment?”

The last 20 + years:)!
I realized two things. I looked like Herman Munster in my tails and I didn’t remember anything until after.
I remember waiting…
And waiting…
And waiting…
And she arrived.
Beautiful day.
Ah yes….I can only imagine.
I photographed a 50th anniversary one time and I asked the old guy “what’s the key to making a marriage work for so long.” He told me “once you make 35yrs. it’s a piece of cake after that.” So I then asked “well do you make to 35?” The elderly man looked at me with a smile and said “Hell son I can’t remember”
Mike A…
Hysterical story! LOVED it!
My father played piano for most of the ceremony, except for the part when he walked me down the aisle.
I was standing outside, and John and his boys were walking up. He starts playing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.” (John played ball all through high school, I didn’t know he’d planned on playing it) And our guests started singing. We had a sing-along, at our wedding.
After that, my uncle stopped me as I was walking up the aisle, he says “It’s not too late to change your mind!” I stopped on my way out and said, “It is now!”
It was a good day. It’s been a good 10 years.
Caroline,
That is a great story. I love humor in weddings. And a sing-along…..who wouldnt’ like that.
Right before my wife (to be) walked down the aisle I took a moment to truly look at our guests. I made eye contact with many of them and it truly took my breath away. I realized in that moment how much these people had invested into my life, some of them from my earliest years, and only a handful of them were blood relatives. They witnessed the most solemn covenant I have ever made in my life. Then she appeared, and I have to look at the pictures to remember the rest.
I can’t remember either. I looked like Herman Munster, I’ve seen the pics, but I can’t remember any of it happening.
